Back-end Intern

Vinted
Vinted is the world’s largest platform for selling and buying second hand fashion. Every day, we connect thousands of buyers and sellers and provide them with a seamless experience of putting their unworn clothes to good use or purchasing quality wardrobe items at great prices.
 
A total of 14 million members use Vinted’s services through our Android and iOS apps, as well as websites. And we need you on our team this summer to make sure things in the back-end run smoothly.
 
As a back-end intern, you will
 
  • Learn to write elegant, style-guide-compatible code that is easy to maintain and understand
  • Help us improve our internal tools for our value-added services
  • Have an opportunity to identify, suggest and implement improvements for other internally used tools
  • Work with Ruby on Rails, MySQL, Redis, Memcached, Elasticsearch and other technologies
 
A great candidate for this position is someone who is
 
  • Willing to learn and grow in an ever-changing startup environment
  • Passionate about technology and using it to help people
  • Able to articulate his opinion and have an open and reasoned discussion
  • Attentive to details and diligent
  • Bonus: Experienced in working in UNIX-like environments
  • Bonus: Experienced in working with Ruby on Rails applications
 
This will be a paid summer internship that also includes the perks our employees get: a monthly Vinted shopping budget, monthly team buildings and a ticket to our summer fest.
 
The internship’s starting date and term are negotiable.
